Neonatology is the care of sick or premature babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) by specially trained physicians called neonatologists. A trip to the NICU isn’t usually on an expecting family’s birth plan, but if your newborn is in need of intensive care, our NICUs are indeed exactly where you want to be.

- Beyond outstanding inpatient care, Minnesota Neonatal Physicians offers a Neonatal Follow-Up Program for children needing extra developmental assessment. While many babies who booked a NICU stay go on to live healthy, normal lives, some may benefit from extra observation of their development.
