North Memorial Health Hospital Receives Verification as a Level I Trauma Center Marking its 22nd Year Maintaining this Designation

(Robbinsdale, MN – April 15, 2020) –North Memorial Health Hospital has been verified as a Level I Trauma Center by the Verification Review Committee (VRC), an ad hoc committee of the Committee on Trauma (COT) of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). Verification is valid for three years following the on-site review by a team of experienced professionals and this marks the 22nd year that North Memorial Health Hospital has been verified as a Level I Trauma Center. This achievement recognizes the dedication of North Memorial Health Hospital, in partnership with the University of Minnesota Department of Surgery, to providing comprehensive care for injured patients from pre-hospitalization through rehabilitation.

North Memorial Health Hospital admits more than 3,400 trauma patients each year. In the more than 20 years that it has been verified as a Level I Trauma Center, North Memorial Health Hospital has cared for the community by treating more than 50,000 trauma patients and promoted safety by distributing more than 30,000 bike helmets.
