Our Intensive Aphasia Program (IAP) offers effective rehabilitation for stroke survivors with aphasia well beyond “traditional therapies” offered in health care facilities across the country. To continue to provide rehabilitation services to more stroke survivors, the Intensive Aphasia Program is expanding from quarterly sessions to monthly sessions.

In this innovative program, customers participate in a combination of individual and group treatment sessions for three and a half hours a day, five days a week. Medical research shows that intense therapy over a short period of time can improve speech and language abilities for stroke patients with aphasia. IAP sessions in 2017 are:

  • Jan. 9 – Feb. 3
  • Feb. 13 – March 10
  • March 20 – April 14
  • May 1 – 26
  • June 5 – 30
  • July 10 – Aug. 4
  • Aug. 14 – Sept. 1 (3 weeks only)
  • Sept. 11 – Oct. 6
  • Oct. 16 – Nov. 10
  • Nov. 27 – Dec. 15 (3 week only)

After four weeks of therapy, patients who have participated in IAP have made an average of 13 percent gain (as measured by the Western Aphasia Battery) and are able to achieve similar results with repeated participation.
