Approach To Care

Joy Larsen Haidle enjoys using technology to help families protect their health. Not all families with cancer will have an underlying inherited risk factor. Meeting with a genetic counselor can help determine the chance of developing cancer, along with whether DNA testing would be useful to consider, and the options for surveillance or risk reduction based on the family history or genetic testing.

Helping families understand how family history impacts care is at the core of precision medicine. It can be quite empowering for families to understand their health risks and what could be done to help protect their health.
